The SHJA Carol Windham Scholarship is awarded annually to individuals that lend their time, hard work, knowledge and love for horses to the local equine community. The award is in memory and honor of Carol Windham, who, despite a courageous battle with cancer, to which she succumbed at a young age, exemplified the qualities that this award represents.  Carol was a SHJA member and very active in the local equestrian community.  She was also the recipient of the 2009 SHJA Sportsmanship award.

The application deadline this year is April 1, 2020.  The SHJA Scholarship committee will be offering two $500 scholarships.  There will be one scholarship awarded to candidates age 14 and under as of March 1st, 2020 and one scholarship awarded to candidates age 15 and over as of March 1st, 2020.

The two selected recipients will each receive a $500 scholarship; these funds can be used towards local SHJA Sanctioned show entry fees, and other associated costs. Other associated costs include but are not limited to, clinics, shipping, schooling and trainer fees.  Special requests for scholarship fund usage can be made to the scholarship committee.
